Privacy policy.
What we collect, why we collect it, and the control you have over it.
Last updated: 15 June 2026
This policy explains how Layr. Digital (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses your personal data when you visit this website or get in touch with us. We are the data controller for the information you provide, and we handle it in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
Layr. Digital is a web design studio based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data you provide. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at websites@layrdigital.co.uk or call +44 330 043 8065.
2. The information we collect
We only collect what we need to respond to you and run our business. This includes:
- Information you give us through our contact form — your name, email address, business name (optional), project details, and budget range (optional).
- Information you send us directly by email or phone.
- Limited technical information our website host records automatically in its server logs (such as IP address), used to keep the site running and secure.
When you submit the contact form, your details are sent straight to us by email so we can reply. We don’t store contact-form submissions in a database on this website.
3. How and why we use it
We use your information to:
- Respond to your enquiry and discuss your project.
- Prepare quotes and deliver services if you choose to work with us.
- Keep records for our legitimate business and accounting needs.
- Maintain the security and performance of this website.
Our lawful bases for processing are your consent (when you contact us), the performance of a contract (when we work together), our legitimate interests (running and improving our business), and legal obligations (such as keeping financial records).
4. How long we keep it
Because enquiries reach us by email, any details you send stay in our email account. We keep this correspondence only as long as we need it to deal with your request, and remove it once it’s no longer needed. Where we’re required to keep records for legal or tax reasons (for example, invoices), we keep those for the period the law requires — generally six years.
5. Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data. The only third parties involved are the providers that host this website and the provider of our business email, who process data on our behalf so we can run the studio and reply to you. Some may process data outside the UK; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose data where required by law.
6. Cookies and tracking
This website doesn’t set cookies, and we don’t use analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking of any kind. If this ever changes, we’ll update this policy before it does.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that’s inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete your data, where there’s no legal reason for us to keep it.
- Object to or restrict how we use your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these, email websites@layrdigital.co.uk. We’ll respond within one month.
8. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
